#2 Montabi Devlog Updates

Feb 21, 2023 | News

Hello everyone! As we promise, we tried to be consistent updating our development progress, so please keep supporting us. For this past two weeks, we’ve been busy implementing the training flow feature in our game, Montabi. With this new feature, players will be able to train their monsters using placeholder assets. For example, players can train their monsters using a treadmill to increase their life or a punchbag to increase their power and strength. We’ve designed the training results to have varying degrees of success, from failed attempts to super success. The result of the training will also affect the stats of the monster, which will make it more exciting for players to train their monsters and see the results.

Training

Our main goal for implementing this training flow feature is to ensure that players remain curious and engaged with the results of their training. The formula we’ve developed will reveal the results at the end of each training session. For instance, in a treadmill training session, the monster will start with a slow treadmill, and as it progresses, the treadmill will increase in speed, revealing the results of the training. A failed attempt will result in the monster falling behind, while a successful attempt will show the monster running with some struggle. A super successful attempt will reveal a monster that’s consistent and looks like the training was easy to do.

Lore and Concept Art

We’re also excited to announce that we’ve established the fundamental lore of the game, which we believe will add depth and immersion to the overall gaming experience. Furthermore, we’ve already started sketching several concept art designs for the baby monsters, which include puppies, bugs, and cones (all codenames). We can’t wait to reveal these adorable designs to our players soon.
