As the sun sets on this final day of 2024, we also close another chapter in Mankibo’s journey. Reflecting on this year fills me with immense gratitude for all that we’ve experienced and accomplished together. In this year-end blog, Boy Dozan shares a message with all of us:
A Year of Growth, Challenges, and Gratitude
I want to say thank you to my amazing team, Prayogo and Vincent, for staying resilient throughout this year. By the end of 2023, our financial situation was not going well. I even told the team that our runway was just 1-2 months away. Thank you to everyone who stayed and fought to do their best. Somehow, we managed to extend the runway and even grow this year. In fact, Mankibo became bigger with Audi and Richard joining the team.
We also want to thank our partners who collaborated with us and trusted us with several projects. This year, we successfully delivered 9 projects, launched 2 commercial games for clients, and have been maintaining them ever since, with amazing active monthly user numbers. We’re truly grateful for your trust and hope to continue delivering the best.
Lastly, this year we made a big decision to pivot Montabi, implementing major changes to its concept and gameplay. It wasn’t an easy decision, but after validating the previous concept and realizing it didn’t work as expected, we made significant changes. After several iterations, the game has started to take shape. We’re looking forward to announcing this game next year, along with some exciting news!
But what makes me really proud is that we stayed true to our vision—to create an inclusive space where anyone can develop accessible games for everyone. This vision has grown into our company’s most important value: empathy. I’m truly proud of the culture we’ve built at Mankibo, where it is a safe place where people are treated with respect, compassion, and provided with a supportive environment. We call this “Memanusiakan manusia” (humanizing humans). I hope that even as we grow slowly, we remain consistent in delivering positive values, which can be reflected in our services and our work, and contribute positively to the industry we love so much—the game industry.
We’re looking forward to 2025! Let’s continue to be resilient and deliver whatever we can with our heart and empathy. Thank you, Mankibo team, for 2024. Let’s do our best in 2025! This year, let’s cultivate our growth to become better individuals and a stronger team.
