After announcing Montabi and launching our Steam page on April 3rd, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to bring you something special. And today, we’re happy to share that our first public demo is now available to download via Steam!

Back in April, we kicked off our journey with the official reveal of Montabi, our creature-collector roguelike deckbuilder. Since then, the response from the community has been incredibly heartwarming. From wishlist support to kind words and encouragement, it means the world to our small indie team here at Mankibo.
One Week of Playtesting and Player Feedback
During the Creature Collector Fest on May 12–19, we ran a limited-time public playtest to gather valuable feedback from early players. We were overwhelmed (in a good way!) by the insights, bug reports, suggestions, and general enthusiasm from everyone who joined in.
This feedback helped us identify what’s working and what could be improved. From UI tweaks to balance changes and quality-of-life improvements, your input directly shaped this next step.
What’s New in the Demo
Thanks to all your support, we’ve polished and prepared the first demo build. This version includes:
- 9 playable Montabi, each with a unique evolution line (18 forms total!)
- One playable Trainer
- Over 150 collectible cards
- 16 supplies, 14 charms, and a variety of enemies and boss fights
- One full map area to explore
- The Montapedia: a compendium for all content
