3rd Year of Mankibo: The Cultivate Chapter!

Jul 1, 2025 | News

In today’s blog, I, Boy Dozan, am once again personally writing about our celebratory journey for our company’s 3rd Anniversary. July 1, 2025, marked our third birthday! We know 3 years might still feel young compared to other top companies, or even several game studios here in Indonesia. But I want to continue the tradition of writing an anniversary blog each year to celebrate our progress, no matter how big or small.

Three years of Mankibo

This month marks three years of Mankibo, and I couldn’t be more proud of how far we’ve come.

We’ve grown steadily, even if slowly. This is something we’re very grateful for, especially during the turbulence of the past few years that has affected many industries including the game industry and us as well.

This year has been filled with meaningful milestones:

  • Partnering with the amazing team at Akupara Games
  • Announcing our debut game, Montabi, on Steam
  • Launching our first closed playtest, followed by our public demo just a month later
  • Receiving 97 percent positive reviews from our first 33 Steam reviews and an average score of 8.1 out of 10 from around 41 player feedback forms

Community Feedback Shaped Us

What touched us the most was how much feedback we received from the community. It helped us shape the game with them, not just for them.

From just two people at the start, we are now a team of eight full-time members, supported by incredible freelancers and interns. That in itself is a huge milestone for us.

One of our company themes this year is “Cultivate.” We want each team member to grow beyond being just an individual contributor and feel encouraged to engage directly with players, partners, and the wider game development community.

We may not be changing the entire game industry, and we may not have the loudest voice, but what we’re doing matters. It matters to our team, to our players, to our community, to our partners, and to our mission.

We’re committed to building joyful, accessible games and creating an inclusive space where anyone (including those with special needs) can thrive in game development.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey: our team at Manki, our partners, players, and community. You’ve made these three years meaningful.

Here’s to the journey ahead. See you on our 4th-year anniversary celebration blog!

With gratitude,

Boy Dozan Founder, Mankibo
